Melon Canteloupe (Each)

In our opinion the best melon in the world! The plump, globe-shaped Charentais melon and sometimes spelled Charantais, has either a smooth or slightly netted grayish, yellow-green rind with dark green furrows. Considered a dessert melon, its juicy, orange flesh offers an intense, sweet flavor and a rich, flowery aroma. Usually the size of a large grapefruit, their average weight is about 1 Kilo. When ripe, the rind loses its gray cast and turns a warmer yellow color.

Melons are good sources of potassium and vitamin C. Melons with orange flesh offer an excellent source of beta-carotene.

Serve fresh or chilled. Juice, freeze, bake, grill. To store, refrigerate ripe or cut melons; use within a few days.
